Texts - Wisdom or Foolishness

Materialists accuse believers of «credulity», but, as Blaise Pascal, that saint of Science, has said: «atheists are the most credulous people, because they believe any absurdity, in order to discredit and deny the truth about God and the supernatural». The atheists and materialists and infidels, and whatever else they claim to be, tell us that the universe, this wonderful cosmos, with all its inconceivable beauty, the infinite variety - no two fingerprints are exactly the same among all mankind from the beginning to the end, no two snow flakes are exactly the same in all the snow on earth, no two leaves, flowers etc. of one kind of trees are exactly the same and, to end this endless train of thought, no two human beings of those that were, those that are, and those that will come, would ever be exactly the same(!) - For these miracles, the miracles of God in nature, nobody can even try to give an explanation, because as soon as he starts to study and analyze them, he will be seized with vertigo! These, the advocates of atheism and materialism, want to tell us are the result of blind fate and chance, the result of a fortuitous concourse of atoms! No, Sirs, your position is not convincing! We will just take a simple example to show the foolishness of all the above assertions of infidels, the absurdity of coincidence! Suppose we put in our pocket ten small cards with a figure from 1-10 written on each of them. According to the «The theory of Probabilities» the chance to draw the number 1 out first is 1/10. Putting back into the pocket the drawn cards, the chance to draw numbers 1 and 2 serially is 1/100. To draw the numbers 1, 2 and 3 serially is 1/1,000 and so on! Now, to draw all 10 numbers serially the chance is 1/10,000,000,000! And we have to do with only 10 numbers! Think now, if this universe, with all its variety, order, and vastness could be the result or product of chance! Oh, no! It was the handiwork of an infinite, personal God, the God revealed in creation, in history, in the Bible! The God Who cared for us wretched sinners and sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ Who made atonement for our sins by shedding His sinless and precious blood on the Cross. The God Whom we worship and trust as our Heavenly Father, to Whom be glory for ever! Yes, «THE heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament sheweth his handywork» (Ps.19:1). As for the atheists and infidels, they just «professing themselves to be wise, they became fools» (Rom. 1:22.)
